Yoga is a traditional physical and mental discipline that originated in India. The practice of yoga involves meditation (dhyana) and placing the body in a series of postures (asana) while controlling the breath to best oxygenate the body and harness energy (pranayama). The postures require balance, flexibility, strength, grace and breath control. There are many reasons people begin a yoga practice: to ease back pain, improve overall health, stress relief or deepen their spiritual practice.
There are many styles of yoga. Blue Tree Yoga has several types of classes ranging from classic to more contemporary formats: Fast; slow; strength-building; heat-building; deep stretching; beginner; advanced practitioner.

Breathecure’s Blue Tree Yoga Studio, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization & charity is a community center holding donation yoga classes, educational programs and workshops. Breathecure programs provide support and educate adults and youth regardless of their cultural or socioeconomic background through workshops, classes and trainings on the benefits of breathing techniques, meditation, and yoga as preventative and complementary treatment of cancer and other diseases including the effects of stress using ayurvedic principles and techniques. Ayurveda’s healing of the mind is the basis for Yoga’s raising of the consciousness. In order to heal the body, we most work with its counterpart, the mind and see the correlation between these two entities. Both Yoga and Ayurveda share the same purpose of life: To realize the self.
