Dietary and Lifestyle Recommendations

To strengthen your immune system, follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid extreme temperatures, hot or cold.
  • Eat sweet, juicy fruits.
  • Don't skip meals.
  • Avoid iced drinks, because they weaken digestion.
  • Favor fresh foods rather than processed or synthetic foods, such as carbonated soft drinks.
  • Avoid impurities such as alcohol or chemical additives in food and water.
  • Don't overexercise. Limit workouts to 50% of your capacity.

At the first sign of a cold or flu, follow these guidelines:

  • Get extra rest. Go to bed before 10:00 p.m. to aid the body in purification.
  • Drink plenty of plain warm water to help flush toxins from the lungs.
  • Eat wholesome, nutritious, easily-digestible foods such as cooked, leafy green vegetables, fresh fruits and vegetable soups.
  • Avoid heavy foods such as meat and dairy products.
  • Reduce oily, cold, sweet, sour and salty foods.
  • Favor light, warm, dry, pungent, bitter and astringent foods.
