What is a Health Care System?

Health is not a one-size-fits-all commodity. For self care to be effective, it has to account for your particular health problems and be easy for you to understand and follow. Maharishi Ayurveda Self-Care Systems do just that. They help with key aspects of health … weight control, worry, fatigue, high cholesterol, insomnia and more.

Each Maharishi Ayurveda Self-Care System includes specific recommendations for diet, lifestyle and related herbal formulas. It's a natural step-by-step process that helps restore balance and create health.

Easy-to-Choose, Potent Ayurvedic Nutritional Formulas

Even though ayurveda is the world's oldest and largest health system, it need not be the most difficult. Use the easy index in the navigation on the left to choose the best ayurvedic herbal formulas for your unique health needs. We have grouped our herbal formulas by health goal to make it easier for you to choose the best ayurvedic herbal formulas for your targeted health needs.

Beyond Body Types

Ayurvedic body types are popular and fun, but not very practical for improving your current health. If you have an imbalance, it is more important to focus on correcting the imbalance first, regardless of your body type.

Our herbal formulas are good for all body types because they correct the root imbalances. Just choose according to the label and all the knowledge of ayurveda is already in the formula for you.

A Holistic Approach

Each of our formulas is a precise combination of herbs that are carefully selected and combined to strengthen the formula in seven crucial ways:

  1. Main herbs for the primary benefit
  2. Herbs to increase absorption
  3. Herbs to remove toxins
  4. Herbs to enhance digestion and prevent internal toxins
  5. Herbs to balance and support other herbs
  6. Herbs to block the effects of stress
  7. Herbs to nourish every cell

Potent from the Start

Maharishi Ayurveda employs over 6,000 traditional gatherers who have been specially trained in how to select herbs in the wild according to our strict standards for premium grade, full-potency herbs. Each herb is then prepared for immediate transport to the central processing facility. Some herbs would lose their potency if they were left to sit overnight before being processed.

Verified by Modern Technology

We test each batch of herbs using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and other technologies to verify both the identity of the herb and its potency. Even with our careful selection standards for the picking of the herbs, only about 50% of each crop meets our standards. Further tests ensure purity by checking for heavy metals, pesticide residues and biological contaminants.*

Tested Once Again

Independent laboratories in the U.S. test our herbal shipments (with the exception of MA and Veda herbs, and personal care products) when they arrive in the U.S. for metal and biological contaminants before we release the product to our distribution centers for shipping.**
