Stewed Apples (Cooked Apples with Cloves)

Stewed Apples (Cooked Apples with Cloves)

Start the day with a stewed apple to build an appetite for lunch, stimulate regular bowel movements, increase vitality and alertness, and provide a light but satisfying start to the day. It may be easily cooked in a crock pot (slow cooker) overnight on "low" or in the morning over a one hour period on "high." Fill crock pot with 2 inches of water to prevent burning. Eat it as early as possible. For a heartier meal to start the day, follow the stewed fruit with some sweet cooked cereal. Not recommended at night.

  • 1 whole fresh, sweet apple, cored and peeled
  • 5 whole cloves
  • ¼ cup of purified water

  1. Dice apple into small pieces. Add cloves, apple and water in a covered pot.
  2. Cook apple in ¼ cup of water until it is soft.
  3. Discard the cloves, cool slightly, and enjoy.
